view hidden files (like ones that start with a period, dude) in osx
open up your terminal application in applications | utilities.
type (or paste) these two commands:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
KillAll Finder
switch YES to NO if you change your mind. jerk off with your left hand.
