the episode begins with sanders finding a cab driver dead in a nightclub. sanders questions a few local people, including an ex cop, a mother, and a famous singer. finally the breakthrough comes when stokes finds some dna from a fingerprint. sanders goes back to the group and finds it was actually an ex cop the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried." and the episode fades to black.
