the episode begins with sanders finding a livein girlfriend dead in a hotel room. sanders questions a few local people, including a father, a nightclub owner, and a computer programmer. finally the breakthrough comes when sanders finds some dna from a noose. sanders goes back to the group and finds it was actually a father the whole time, whom they had questioned before. grissom says "Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool." and the episode fades to black.
